Our second grade students recently experienced a wonderful musical opportunity with the Decatur Youth Symphony Orchestra. For ten consecutive days, Ms. Jessica visited our school to introduce students to the fundamentals of playing violin.
During these sessions, students learned to identify essential violin and bow parts, mastered proper holding techniques, and understood basic violin care. Their daily practice sessions built fundamental skills through engaging exercises and simple melodies. The program ended with a special performance where these young musicians proudly demonstrated their newfound abilities.

First Grade ladybug release day!! These kids have worked so hard learning about the ladybug life cycle through reading books, writing facts, and watching what they were learning come to life. It was a happy day seeing our ladybugs released into their natural habitat.
